Terms of Service

By creating an account and using Couch Champions, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Couch Champions.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Couch Champions. By using our service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use our service.

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You may not share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Couch Champions offers subscription tiers to access advanced features: Free ("Kickabout") for 1 group (5 members max, 30-day history); Pro ("Season Ticket") for €0.99/week, €3.99/month, or €39/year (5 groups, 25 members, unlimited history, 7-day trial for monthly/yearly); and League ("Club Owner") for €2.49/week, €8.99/month, or €89/year (unlimited groups, 100 members, multiple admins, unlimited features, 7-day trial for monthly/yearly).

Subscriptions auto-renew; weekly plans bill immediately (no trial). Cancel via Stripe; pro-rata refunds for unused monthly/yearly periods. Exceeding limits (e.g., groups/members) returns 402 errors. We enforce tiers via automatic database checks. No refunds for abuse or violations.

All payments processed securely via Stripe; we do not store card details. By subscribing, you agree to these billing terms and our refund policy.

You agree NOT to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Submit false, inaccurate, or misleading match results
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Use automated systems (bots, scripts) to access the service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Collect or harvest information about other users without their consent
• Spam or abuse QR code/link invites (e.g., mass sharing without consent)
• Share paid content (e.g., League-tier groups) with non-subscribers
• Falsify match data to manipulate ELO rankings

You retain ownership of any content you submit to Couch Champions, including match results, group names, and profile information. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving our service.

You are responsible for the content you submit and must ensure it does not violate any laws or third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.

Group creators have administrative privileges, including the ability to manage members and moderate content within their groups. Administrators are responsible for maintaining a positive environment within their groups and ensuring members follow these Terms.

We are not responsible for disputes between group members. Users should resolve conflicts directly or leave groups where conflicts cannot be resolved.

Couch Champions and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written permission.

FIFA and EA SPORTS FC are trademarks of Electronic Arts Inc. Couch Champions is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Electronic Arts Inc.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Couch Champions at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

COUCH CHAMPIONS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected. We make no warranties about the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the service.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COUCH CHAMPIONS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Couch Champions and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms, violate tier limits, or abuse features like match editing or invites. Subscription tiers end on the billing cycle; no refunds for early termination due to violations.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability. Billing data may be retained for legal/compliance purposes (e.g., 7 years).

If you have any concerns or disputes about the service, you agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us. We will attempt to resolve disputes in good faith.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in courts of competent jurisdiction.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.

It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the service.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Couch Champions regarding the service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
